We are proud to be the lead sponsor of the inaugural Storefront International Series (Storefront I.S.) program, presented by Storefront for Art and Architecture, which will take place June 25-June 30, 2013 in the Dominican Republic.
Storefront I.S. Dominican Republic is a six-day series of events that address the most pressing issues in the construction of public life within the region. The program will include two events each day on such topics as progress, ecologies of tourism, identity, innovation, infrastructure, and geopolitical borders.
Local and global experts will present and discuss their ideas and observations about the Dominican Republic’s current cultural and physical landscape at various sites throughout the country. Participating professionals include Christy Cheng, Eva Franch, Rubén Hernández Fontana, Sachi Hoshikawa, Jeffrey Inaba, Dominic Leong, Chris Leong, Juan Mubarak, Emil Rodríguez Garabot, Juan Rufino Castillo, and Shohei Shigematsu, among many others.
Storefront I.S. is a nomadic project that takes Storefront’s event series to different cities and territories around the globe. With a mix of both local and global experts from the fields of art, architecture, literature, politics, real state, anthropology, economics, technology and science, as well as citizens at large, Storefront I.S. articulates local desires within global understandings.
