NIBS Will Co-Host Offsite Construction Expo

Green to Keynote, OSCC to Hold Meeting at Event

Jul 27, 2015 -- In a recent survey conducted by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) Off-Site Construction Council (OSCC), 93 percent of respondents in the architect, engineer, contractor and owner fields indicated that they had implemented some form of offsite construction process in the past twelve months. However, up to this point, there has not been a focus on this expanding sector of the building industry. The Offsite Construction Expo, to be held September 23-24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown Washington, D.C., changes that by putting the spotlight directly on offsite construction.

This brand new event, hosted by NIBS, the Modular Building Institute (MBI) and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), will feature exhibits from offsite construction contractors, traditional contractors that have integrated offsite methods, offsite factories, transportation companies, architects, engineers, building information modeling (BIM) suppliers, materials suppliers and consultants for all types of offsite construction processes.

The two-day event includes keynote speakers NIBS President Henry L. Green, Hon. AIA, and AGC Chief Economist Kenneth D. Simonson; educational case studies to be presented each hour on the expo floor; and a meeting of the OSCC.

The event is free to qualified attendees (including developers, architects, engineers, traditional contractors, government agencies, schools and universities, and students with a current school ID) who register by Friday, July 31, at 11:59 pm EDT.

Once the free early-bird rate expires, online registration will be $99.00 for qualified attendees until September 22. On-site registration is $149.00.

So don’t wait. Register today while it’s still FREE!

Not a qualified attendee? No problem.

This show is intended to inform qualified attendees about the advantages of offsite construction. However, non-qualified attendees are always welcome. The early-bird rate for non-qualified attendees is $1,750.00, but they must register by July 31, at 11:59 pm EDT. Thereafter, the online registration rate for non-qualified attendees is $1,950.00. So register now and save $200!
