AWR, the innovation leader in high-frequency EDA, is bringing two important events to wireless designers of worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX). 2008 promises to be a breakout year for WiMAX, and the demand for wireless services with increasing speed and range is driving the development of WiMAX products worldwide.

AWR is sponsoring an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) web cast on December 5 that will discuss the latest developments in WiMAX technology and applications. Presenters are Christian John, director of WiMAX Operator Strategic Planning at Intel Corp., and Rick Svensson, director of sales, 4G/Mobile WiMAX at Samsung Telecommunications.

Two weeks after the IEEE Web Cast, AWR is presenting its own VSS WiMAX Design Solution Web seminar on December 18 specifically tailored for microwave/RF designers of WiMAX devices. This web seminar will include real-time demonstrations of key features within AWR's Visual System Simulator ™ (VSS) software that enable WiMAX conformance tests, and receiver sensitivity as well as budget analysis. The VSS time-domain simulator together with the WiMAX module provides exceptional value because it helps designers to uncover design flaws early in the process, enabling improved design throughput and lowering development costs.
