Hard Dollar Corporation to Unveil Third Generation Estimating and Bidding Software at Computers for Construction Conference 2002

TEMPE, Ariz., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Hard Dollar Corporation, the leading provider of integrated cost estimating and project management systems for the infrastructure construction industry, is building momentum for the release of it's third generation software, Hard Dollar BID*BUILD(TM). Attendees at Computers for Construction 2002, to be held October 22-24 in Dallas, Texas, will be among the first to see the new system. The first in the industry to embrace Microsoft's .NET platform, this third generation of Hard Dollar's flagship software marks another major milestone in the firm's multi-stage growth plan launched in 1999.

Grant Lungren, Hard Dollar founder and chairman, laid out a vision for BID*BUILD more than a decade ago. "With the sophisticated software development tools now available to us through .NET, coupled with the immense processing power of today's PCs, we were able to fully capture the original vision for BID*BUILD. This release is the definitive combination of power, performance, and productivity, yet it's wrapped in a package that is incredibly easy to learn and use. This release is the culmination of our 200 years of collective construction experience, plus feedback from thousands of our current clients. Our ultimate goal is to help infrastructure contractors capture more profit, and this release brings that objective within reach of every contractor in our industry."

The release of Hard Dollar BID*BUILD is a key component of the company's overall strategy. "BID*BUILD provides the foundation for the company's growth over the next decade," says Tom Blondi, Hard Dollar president and CEO. "The vast flexibility and customization capabilities of the software make it attractive to small contractors and industry giants alike, and also allows us to aggressively move into international markets."

Hard Dollar customers will have the opportunity to see the product first- hand at a User's Meeting that is being held in conjunction with the Computers for Construction trade show. The firm has enlisted numerous customers as test sites who have been working with pre-release versions of the product.

Brad Barth, senior vice president, product management, says that customers are enthusiastic about the new release. "Our over-arching design criteria for this generation of the product can be summed up in three words: fast, flexible, and friendly. Based on the positive response so far from our customers who have previewed the software, I'm confident we've hit the mark." One of those customers is Trumbull Corporation, a large heavy/highway contractor based in Pennsylvania. Trumbull's Roland Kania states, "One of the best things about the new software is that we can customize the way we look at information. The new system looks like a real time saver."

Hard Dollar BID*BUILD is actually a suite of more than a dozen fully integrated modules, each containing a defined set of functionality. Contractors can select individual modules for initial implementation, and then add new modules, as additional functionality is needed. Taken as a whole, Hard Dollar BID*BUILD is capable of automating the entire bidding and building process, from estimating through bidding, from job launch through construction closeout. The estimating and bidding modules are the first to be released in the new technology, followed by a staged rollout of the remaining modules in 2003. Hard Dollar BID*BUILD runs on Windows-based desktop or laptop PCs and networks.

At the CFC Show, Hard Dollar is exhibiting in booth #617 and will provide product tours throughout the three-day event. Its executives and several clients will be available for interviews at the conference.
