This book is designed to introduce Chief Architect to new users, and to introduce architectural CAD through the use of the Chief Architect software. The book is aimed at students in technology education, "tech prep", or introductory level architectural CAD courses, vo-tech courses, college architectural design classes, and architects and designers just starting with Chief Architect. The book is divided into a series of projects developed to help new users explore and appreciate three dimensional architectural design and drawing.
Exploring Residential Home Design Using Chief Architect introduces the fundamental concepts needed to create 3D models of architectural designs. The modeling process includes creating walls; adding doors and windows; building roofs and foundations; adding stairs and framing members; installing interior fixtures, appliances, and accessories; selecting materials and textures for objects; and creating dimensioned plans, elevations, and rendered views of the design.
