There are two new tools in IMAGINiT Utilities for Civil 3D: Pipe Grade and Multi-Part Swap. IMAGINiT is also introducing enhancements to IMAGINiT Utilities for Vault Client and IMAGINiT Utilities for Vault Server as well as a new tool in IMAGINiT Utilities for Vault Server, Vault Command Line.
Rick Davis, Autodesk marketing manager, Design and Animation and Erin Emery, industry marketing manager for Building Design talked about the recent Autodesk announcement at the Game Developers Conference Europe of the new Stingray, a real-time engine that can be used to create high quality 3D games, or be applied in the AEC industry to make BIM-informed 3D visualizations in 3ds Max design software fully interactive in a real-time environment.
Trimble SketchUp made a couple of announcements this summer: one being the SketchUp Mobile Viewer launch for both iOS and Android, an online presentation app, and the other the partnership between Trimble and Materialise to streamline 3D printing workflows by adding support for the STL file format in Trimble’s 3D Warehouse.
Randy Denny, vice president of Sales for Xplore Technologies talked recently about the company’s big news: acquiring Motion Computing in April of 2015. Motion added to Xplore a broader portfolio of solutions in the “rugged category” of tablets.
“Now we’ll serve two markets of ultra-rugged devices,” said Denny, “and we have the dominant marketshare.” Denny added that their customers include utilities, construction, public safety and retail. 30% of their business requires some level of customization, such as in-vehicle docks and perhaps including special integration.
Vectorworks Nomad received a “BEST OF SHOW” award in the Mobile category from Architosh Magazine’s Annual Awards at the American Institute of Architects Convention (AIA) 2015 held in Atlanta this year.
