The task which we had to solve with our design was to create a space with 300 seats (or 700 standing spectators) for experimental performances of the Bavarian State Opera. The Pavilion should be dismountable, transportable and re-mountable and make the respective urban space distinctive through its shape.
Paul Valery Highschool buildings in MENTON, France was recently restructured and extended by N+B architects. the project took into account the notions of flexibility, environmental use functionality and to enable the programmatic entities to be linked together around exterior spaces. The ambition of this project is to offer a coherence set in a specific environment.

The new Drawing and Illustration Centre of ABC appears with the will to become an artistic reference at an international level and also a symbol of the cultural offer in Madrid. Its installation in the building of the old factory in Calle Amaniel, must respond to an intervention that is appropriate for a historical building, without renouncing to express its contemporanean centre nature with a wide cultural and artistic offer linked to the most avant-garde institutions within our context.
One of the qualities of the residential and industrial area of St. Johann in Basel is the close coexistence of old and new buildings. This coexistance is kept and emphasized in the project. For this reason, only one of the four existing houses on the corner parcel will be replaced by a new one: Lichtstrasse 9; while Lichtstrasse 11 and Kraftstrasse 1 will be renovated and profit from the new built infrastructure.
At the place where Rotterdam was founded, near the historic Laurens church, the Market Hall will be realized as a new urban typology. The Market Hall is a sustainable combination of food, leisure, living and parking. Fully integrated to enhance and use the synergetic possibilities of the different functions, a public building emerging from housing.
This project serves as an extension of the Bay Trail, part of what will be a 500-mile network of bicycle and walking trails connecting 47 cities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This section begins at the Alameda Ferry station and continues through an industrial corridor, along the property of the Bay Ship and Yacht Company.
The living space of this Connecticut residence is formed by a spiraling ribbon of 18 planes, defined by 36 points connected by 54 lines. This pure and dynamic architectural form generates distinctive interior spaces while dramatically framing both near and distant landscape scenes. Large glass planes virtually disappear within the ribbon, allowing unimpeded picturesque views of 18th century hay meadows and giant oaks. Circulation through kitchen, living, dining, and sleeping areas is seamless and free-flowing, as is the distinction between interior and exterior space. Challenging both traditional and modern notions of “the house in the landscape,” this design gives nothing of itself up to its natural setting, but selectively incorporates the elements therein for the enhancement of both house and landscape.
Greenland Group has announced construction plans for the world’s third tallest building, to be located in Wuhan, China. As the largest city in central China, Wuhan is a political and cultural center and an important strategic central core. The city has long been in need of a global center with a high reception capacity. Located in Wuhan‘s business district, Wuchang, the construction project, dubbed the Wuhan Greenland Center, is to become the chief high-capacity central space for the area.
The Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre for the City University of Hong Kong will provide facilities that will enable the University to become the first in Asia to offer the highest level of education and training in the creative media fields. The Centre will house the Centre for Media Technology and the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology. Studio Daniel Libeskind is working with Leigh & Orange Architects and expects the building to be completed in 2010.
