Urban Plan Rodovre Syd in Rødovre, Denmark by WE Architecture

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

Rødovre Syd is a suburbian area of Copenhagen, characterized by a mixture of open green areas, a network of roads, large apartment complexes and low row-housing enclaves. The project offers to transform the existing planning by adding buildings in a  pixel-patchwork, as an addition to the 60’ies planning. The greater density allows for urban feel and commercial activities at specific zoom-in areas as well as a greater variety of residential.

Absolute Green Urban Tree in Israel by Dr. Joseph Cory Architect (designed using Autodesk Revit)

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

PV4All is a planning paradigm that explores original use of photovoltaic technologies in a growing need for a sustainable environment. Whatever we design and no matter what the size of our product is we must overlay it with PV in the manner you can see in all of GEOTECTURA’s work. The main motivation of the PV4All design is the need to merge architecture together with ecological values and cost effective technological design. PV4All promotes global awareness and communal responsibility and sees beyond a single short term solutions. It is a complete design philosophy and not just a single product or prototype.

CADENA VISUAL-OPTIMIL OFFICES in Castellón, Spain by ALT Arquitectura

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

The project arises from the manipulation of a continuous surface which by means of two operations, cutting and folding, resolve the entire programme. In this way it appears as if it were an object which does not emerge from the ground, it poses on it. Without jumps or breaks in its continuity, it wraps playfully round the topography being an external face and internally, a floor, wall, ceiling, framework and roof. The internal programme resolves itself with diaphanous and interconnected spaces, changing its height in sequence in order to resolve the different scales. It is an object susceptible to being expanded or reduced without marring the whole, since the result is an open process

JC&M House in Madrid, Spain by ALT Arquitectura

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

In a very beautiful natural environment this single-family dwelling lies hidden. Taking advantage of the sloping terrain, it is integrated into the rest of the housing development, chameleon like, shown as a bird’s-eye view of the plant, only a stretch of the façade is visible. Thus a one-storey dwelling is considered, in which all the spaces turn towards the interior of the plot like a shop window. The dwelling shows two different characteristics, due to the demands of the community. The first one is defined in the area of the entrance; it was realized in brick, respecting the neighboring dwellings. Towards the interior of the piece of land, the dwelling becomes ethereal, made of glass, stainless steel and fine metallic screens.

Martin House in Madrid, Spain by ALT Arquitectura

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

In this house we always fled to make “a nice home”. I think Art is not better or worse for its beauty but the degree of emotion that arises. Beauty is something superficial and, in most cases, false. My obsession in this case was to make a total abstraction (which has nothing to do with minimalism), evoking the same mixed emotions we feel when we see the black monolith in “2001: A Space Odyssey”, Stonehenge, or the black smoke in “Lost”(tv serie). It is a black box that absorbs light, with no cap on the edges, with holes instead of windows. No proportion, its geometry is strictly demanded by the internal function. I tend to be formalistic in my architecture, but here I wanted to approach it as something that comes out of nowhere, as if I had never studied architecture. Not a house or a sculpture, I don´t know exactly what it is, and I don´t need to know it. And so makes me feel a restlessness sensation that keeps me going adore Architecture.

Spa memory Chairama in Bogota, Colombia by Giancarlo Mazzanti + Felipe Mesa

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

1. Maximum use of the space

The project is located in a traditional square in Bogotá between two other buildings, with a specific norm that sets the height and general isolations. The requirement to use as much area as possible resulted in a regular cubic volume and isolated on all sides of other buildings and completely exposed to natural light.
