Article source: Marcos Bertoldi Arquitetos

Concept of the work:

A beach house, facing the sea, planned for a family of four, where the architectural features were organized to be tied to a modulated structure of reinforced concrete. The order of the vacant and full spaces inside this structure is what provides volume to the project.

Recovery Project for a rural building in Salento, Italy by Luca Zanaroli Architetto

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Article source: Luca Zanaroli Architetto

“When I discovered what would have become my refuge in the Salento area, my first impression of the building and the location was its “monumental nature”. Not for any special artistic or architectural value (it is, in fact, a rather rudimental and poor building), but for its expression of strength and character, which is typical of the nature and culture of the area. That was when I decided that the restoration project should have had the purpose to maintain my original impression intact.”

SOSNO Art Gallery- Architecture of Obliteration

French sculptor Sosno and architect Rytis Daukantas transformed one of his sculptures into an Art Gallery building.  Sacha Sosno (born 1937) is French artist of New Realism movement and is one of the legends of so called “School of Nice”. His works has been termed as the art of obliteration. All of his works are masked by empty or full space, inviting the viewer to use his own imagination. Whatever it is some painting, sculpture or building, people have to finish creating it in their minds. The concept of “inhabited sculpture” was born in mid-80s. One of the most recognizable works is 26-meter high monumental sculpture-building “Tete carree” which by now become one of the landmarks in French city of Nice.
