It is a plan of the flagship shop of Ginza ‘Natsuno’(the “Chopsticks” specialty store)of Ginza. A long and slender building where 40m “Chopsticks” like structure stands tall on a site only 50m2 in the corner in the intersection on Namiki street and Matsuya street. ![]() Ginza Natsuno Building
![]() The chopsticks It was thought that the building that extended as a delicate scale “Chopsticks”, could not produced. Then, it was thought that the scale of “Pillar” of the high rise was reduced to the scale of “Pillar” of the house, and it was going to make it to a structure near the person. ![]() Transparent facade The pillar of the iron frame of 10×10cm was displayed for the site, with the small pillar tied in some places mutually in the beam, and it looks like a cylindrical pillar where the entire building is one. The glass is set between those iron frames. ![]() Buiding interior Externally it becomes milky-white like the shoji and it has the transparent shade like the showcase in parts. Everything from the exterior of the structure and the fixture and furniture combine naturally with gradation. ![]() Ginza Natsuno Building at night This building has neither a reflecting facade peculiar to Ginza nor a signboard colorful exterior. This building in a rough expression of the architect’s desire, with a transparent facade, to connect the town ‘GINZA ‘ externally to the inside of the building. ![]() Bringing 'External' Ginza to inside of the building This is a proposal of a new way of creating a building in Ginza. ![]() Milky white look Related posts:GGA Offices in Washington DC by Group Goetz Architects (GGA) Tully’s Coffee shop in COMCITY Kurosaki, Japan by DOYLE COLLECTION CO.
