Z&Z Studios have submitted a proposal for a public promenade in Belgrade, Serbia. Recent research shows that on the average foreign tourist question — what is it that it leaves the biggest impression when you visit Belgrade — in 95% of cases will tell you – people or citizens of Belgrade.
Bearing in mind this fact, the guiding idea of this project and have just been – the people.
New Belgrade large terraces are designed at the same time as new symbol of entering the old town and as a final solution for direct links between the two historical entities – Kosancicev venac and old Sava river port, tourist port Belgrade today.
The big challenge was at the same time to respect the old background ambient atmosphere, and the buildings of modern architecture.
LightSpine proposes a lightweight timber bridge made from prefabricated customised modular components designed and architected by Carlo Ratti Associati, Atmos Studio and engineered by ARUP Advanced Geometry Unit. It can be rapidly assembled and has been developed as an efficient, elegant response to emergency situations (e.g. post-earthquake in Haiti and Chile).

The new built airport is part of Georgia’s ambitious plans to develop tourism in Mestia. With the unveiling of the airport on December 24th the building was designed and constructed within 3 months.

In the heart of the water city of Royat, at the confluence of the Tiretaine and Liaboux rivers, Vincent Callebaut Architectures’ extension project is a dynamic response to Royat city’s desire to build a mobilization swimming pool represented by a very attractive and contemporary architecture designed specifically for patients at therapeutic spas.

The builders originally started with the idea of the Morerava Cabins when they saw an opportunity to create a tourist complex on Easter Island in 2009. Analysing the tourist market on the Island they quickly realized most sectors were well developed, spanning from luxury Hotels to private homes and camping, however one niche sector was not covered: family friendly cabins which meet certain quality standards.
