700-Year Old Italian Farmhouse Renovated with Delicate Filigree Screens
Santa Maria Al Bagno is a small fishermen village, district of Nardò in the province of Lecce, and it is located on the coastline of the Gulf of Taranto, Ionian west coast between Gallipoli and porto Cesareo. The project embraces a conversion of an existing old house from the 14th century in Puglia, south Italy. The house was part of a so called “masseria”, a traditional farmhouse to be found in the countryside of Puglia and usually built in “tufo”, a local sandstone.
This project explores the notion of programmatic extremism in a design incubator facility where a central defined figure that contains a vertically integrated manufacturing/workloft arrangement occupies the void and recoups the emptiness left by an existing ice storage facility.

Group Goetz Architects (GGA) is proud to serve as the lead designer for Michel the newest restaurant by Michel Richard. Located in the Ritz Carlton at Tyson’s Corner, Michel infuses the hotel with the character and life the James Beard Award-winning chef is known for. The space combines the elegance of his Georgetown location, Citronelle, and the business atmosphere found in his latest venture, Central, also designed by the nationally recognized Group Goetz Architects. Michel is a destination for business breakfasts and lunches and transforms into an elegant evening dining venue serving innovative modern French cuisine in a contemporary setting, where guests can enjoy everything from duck with figs and cinnamon to chocolate crème brulee.
The design draws inspiration from the uses adjacent to the proposed site, container storage yards, in order to reflect the industrial character of the surrounding area and create a clear visual connection with Scotland’s largest container terminal. The design would function at long range as a distinct element within the setting of the Firth of Forth and within the context of the Helix park project. At the medium range, careful manipulation of the contrast between solid, void and transparency can help define the massing of the Biomass Renewable Energy Plant in an appropriate manner, while at close range, the design of the surface texture should be considered carefully to create an architectural response which is robust and appropriate for the setting.
When we look from the see to the new proposal of the Pireaus tower. This proposal will connect the tower with the see, the nearby and the city of Athens.
Omroep Brabant is a regional broadcasting company. It touches the peoples hearts in the Brabant region. COEN! Translated this feeling into the new interior of this organisation. A warm welcome in the entrance hall, a poem and floor pattern about the purple heath and subtle translation of the typical Brabant flag. A visualisation of tradition in a modern entourage.
Nove 1 consists of two 3,500 square foot single-family residences located on a corner lot in Aspen’s West End neighborhood. Sometimes entitled “Sibling Rivalry,” Nove’s two residences divide the property into equal halves and draw a line – the concrete landscaping wall – right down the double courtyard in the middle. The residences are within easy walking distance of Aspen’s numerous cultural activities. The architecture of the houses is clean and sophisticated. The exterior and interior material palate is simple yet elegant, and designed for housing of the residents’ many pieces of artwork. Construction was completed in the fall of 2005.
Wenzhou lies within a mountainous region of Zhejiang Province where the Ou Jiang River meets the East China Sea. The traditional trading town opened to foreign trade in 1876 and as an international port is one of today’s key production locations for the consumer goods industry in China. The centrepiece of the city’s future Central Business District comprises offices, a five-star hotel, commercial space and a public park.
The proposal for the Polish city’s WWII museum addresses the issues of the site as it pertains to local adjacencies (vehicular and pedestrian access, programmatic access, and views) as well as broader urban and climatic context that defines it, and which we intend to manipulated at a local level. Gdansk’s climatic context plays a decisive role in determining the activities and social interactions of its program; and since these conditions are no longer believed to be out of the reach of the architect’s design control, then these activities and social relationships built with and around the museum are open for redesign as well.
