The 52,000 m2 extension of Herlev Hospital will comprise a new emergency department and maternity services centre, including a pediatrics unit and maternity ward, among others.
The winning project consists of three circular buildings placed on rectangular bases – which are displaced from each other creating a number of inviting outdoor spaces. The new extension thus constitutes a down-scaled and compressed contrast to the 120 metre high rectangular geometry of the existing hospital.
The new hospital in Herlev, Denmark, will open in 2017
Extension of existing local on ground floor under a residential building block. In its northern part, the site is poured into St. James Street, generating close to the access to upper floors (dwelling building), a building depth that requires the interior to flow to the rear facade. Thus, all airy spaces are structured on both sides of the façade. The expansion, is felt in the posterior lateral of the current locale, creating a new higher volume, related with the original volume, and adding a large polyvalent room at its principal use unfragmented, which allows have an equipment capable of absorbing larger occupations and uses.
At eye-level with the top of IFC, the tallest building in Hong Kong, the Barker Residence holds stunning views of Victoria Harbor. The project is the first of a series of projects designed by davidclovers for a developer of residential properties in Hong Kong. The basic approach is to hone in on the most potent areas of the existing layout, and enhance them. At Barker Residence, davidclovers reworks the unit horizontally and vertically using a series of subtly inflected walls and artificially-lit ceilings to bend space around corners and through floors.

Returning to the site of my first crime, (Gymnase Louis Blériot, Nominated first work 2004), whilst never having understood why nominee and not winner, is like going on a date with your first unrequited love, or at least her sister who was prettier anyway.
Designing an athletic track could get you as bored as when you are running on it: curve, straight, curve, straight, again and again. Perfectly standardized, sport architecture has become more universal than international style. Track length of 400 m, 36.5 m radious. 1.22 m each lane….just data, without any fissure to let your imagination soar.
Software used: Designed the track in Rhinoceros with Grasshopper (parametric tool). This tool allowed the architects to create multiple variations of the solutions, varying its slope, size, orientation, surface… optimizing the solution.
The city of Holstebro has celebrated the completion of the public realm project around the Storaa stream and new cultural facilities, designed by OKRA and the Danish Schul office. The project is funded by the City of Holstebro and Realdania, a Danish foundation who contributes to public cultural projects.
Nestled amongst a forest of towers on Old Peak Road above Central Hong Kong, the Tregunter tower holds unique layered views of Victoria Harbor. The abundance of bay windows, structural walls and beams that are common to residential towers would appear to constrain the possibilities of the apartment. However, by turning constraints into opportunities, davidclovers re-works the volumes of this apartment by using the ceiling and the floor.
