Hoto Fudo in Yamanashi, Japan by Takeshi Hosaka Architects

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

The project was planned on the site with Mt. Fuji rising closely in the south and the two sides facing the trunk roads. This building seems to belong to such nature objects as mountains and clouds. It is made from soft geometry, which will not arise from the figures like quadrangles and circles. By continuously operating innumerable polygon mesh points, we have determined the shape that clears the conditions such as the consistency as shell construction and the undulations that ward off rainwater in spite of its free geometry. The RC shell with cubic surfaces creates such spaces as 530 square meters of seats, 140 square meters of kitchens, and 50 square meters of rest rooms, in such a manner that it envelops and opens them.

Patrizia Headquarters in Augsburg, Germany by Kadawittfeldarchitektur

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

BRIEF Extension of the headquarters and representation. Flexible offices, gastronomy, underground parking. Closing of the gap in the block closure, in compliance with prerequisite regulations | ADDED VALUE The designs reacts to the “relief” façade of the neighbouring buildings with a double-skin façade, in which the in-between space expands from 0.5 m to 2 m, thus becoming useful space. With insulated glass on the exterior and sliding doors separating the interior offices, this “winter garden” becomes a place of relaxation or communication or a temporary work space. A new office typology is created with the possibility of an extension from two sides: the combination-zone on the access side and the winter garden zone on the façade side.

Casajijona villa in Alicante, Spain by dooa arquitecturas

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Article source: dooa arquitecturas

Building a villa: There is a very important moment in every couple´s life: the moment of constructing their own house. It´s a hard process, full of illusion and also, of course, difficult decisions that pushes the relationship and the couple´s economy. With this in mind, dooa arquitecturas took the responsibility of designing and building their home. And the result is casajijona, a project that responds to the environment of croplands at different levels. Its horizontal design generates an interesting dialog with the surrounding landscape. The vegetation enters in land occupied by the villa, recovering the old existing cropland. Once built it became the small-big project for our friends.

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Situated at the threshold of Hong Kong and Mainland China, Qianhai occupies a position of strategic significance in the Pearl River Delta. The planned intensification of transport through the site renders inevitable its emergence as a new center. The question is not whether Qianhai will develop, but how? If successful, a new city center in Qianhai could fulfill Shenzhen’s coastal ambitions and establish a node for interaction between various components of the PRD.
