Civic Sports Center and 2013 National Games Arena, Shenyang, 2011

The site for this project is located at the heart of downtown Shenyang. Adjacent to Zhongshan Park, it is a connector between the natural and urban life of the city, making it a perfect location for a sports complex and for a National Games Arena. The facility has a total built area of 123,000 square meters.

Sway’d’ Interactive Public Art Installation in Salt Lake City, Utah by Daniel Lyman

In its essence, the installation’s seemingly un-orchestrated subtle movements are reminiscent of a field of grass or trees reacting from the wind. Though each rod sways independently to its own rhythm, each individual maintains harmony with the whole; all swaying together in a symphony orchestrated by the supple forces of nature – no one part more important than the whole.

This building, which is the first one built under the renewal process of the regional offices of the national TV station (Television Nacional de Chile) and the winner of a public bidding, reflects the need of the national station of create architectural prototypes for the north, center and south of our country, in line with the characteristics of each of these geographic areas and respecting the construction costs.

Henley Halebrown Rorrison has completed its phased masterplan development of The Waldron health centre in Lewisham South London. Designed to change people’s perception of healthcare, The Waldron is planned around a new civic square framed by the health centre, shops, and a 5-storey development with street level café. Inside, the 6,029 sq m health centre is organised around two courtyard gardens and a spacious foyer featuring a site-specific installation by artist Martin Richman.

Troy Museum Competition Proposal in Çanakkale, UK by iki Architect

The habit for arranging the worshipping area with Qibla direction was continued to be organized in a square form. The surrounding for this square form should be a transparent “Glass Lantern”. So that an idea emerged to create a “glass prism” where the carrying blocks and surfaces are formed by the same material in which  the worshipping area will have an visual quality of the highest degree between the exterior day light and the worshipping area. In order to capture strong mystical ambiance, all the verses of the Quran were stamped on the transparent walls and ceiling surfaces.

Domain Road Apartments in Melbourne, Australia by Wood/Marsh Architecture

The height and scale of the proposed building is a direct response to the scale and massing of the existing context and fits comfortably with the adjoining buildings. The rectilinear volume sits atop a foliage-covered plinth, conceived as a reinterpretation of the surrounding fences overgrown with greenery and forms a direct visual relationship with the neighbouring Royal Botanic Gardens.

The project has been thought as a new geography to the interior of the elongated Aburrá Valley, midway between Cerro Nutibara and Cerro El Volador. It is a building that seems to be another mountain in the city; from the remote or from the top has an abstract image geographic and festive; from the inside, the movement of the steel structure, allows the filtered sunlight to get inside the space, which is the suitable condition for the conduct of sporting events.
