The idea came when we built Cafe Five where we saw the need to adapt an inexpensive room for users. In our search for solutions, find the work of the architect Andreas Strauss in 2006 recycled concrete pipes to bring in a hotel room. We managed to recycle the tube diameter by 2.44m long and 3.50m to make our bathroom our client decided to make a hotel with the same characteristics as Desparkhotel. On a ground that is located on the outskirts of Tepoztlan, with excellent panoramic views of the Sierra del Tepozteco and in a wooded setting of unusual features, has been generating a unique natural environment and for our purpose.

The goal was to have the ability to build fast and an affordable hotel that gave Tepoztlan tourism service to others it was a totally new concept for the region. With a projection of 20 rooms and began building the first modules. Unlike the hotel Andreas Strauss, we place the rooms (tubes) in three modules to harness the ground as possible.

Our office is commissioned to do a general plan and build the first module 3 tubocretos then Tubohotel administration was responsible for building the remaining modules.  The order of the tubes is random with respect to the topography. Construction took place over a period of 3 months.

This is a project that has developed insitu, so we do not have much to say about it. We developed a general plan that I will make you go, and was built in a very short period of time. I just can not answer many of your questions. But here I make a small project memory. Please show me if you need to know something more.

The idea came when we built Five Cafe, a studio for artists with a cafe that serves, at the edge of Ahuatepec Morelos. (You can visit or www.t3arc.com www.cafe5.com.mx) This was a very low budget project, where we were able to serve artists and neighbors, with organic coffee. We saw the need to adapt an inexpensive room for users, given our budget we could not build the traditional way. In our search for solutions, we found a similar case in Austria, built by architect Andreas Strauss in 2006 who recycle concrete pipes to bring in a hotel room. With the support of Tubocretos Morelos, whom we come directly to request a quote, we realized that using a drainage tube of this type was much more expensive than a normal building. With your help we got recycling tube 2.44m diameter by 3.50m long, having manufacturing errors, and not being fully committed to their structural characteristics, we decided to use a much lower cost and leaving the seal of the company that is printed on each tube.

When you know the bathroom and spatial characteristics of the tube, the Anderson family, passionate and around Mexico, specifically in Tepoztlan, decide important to develop this idea of a hotel with the same characteristics as Desparkhotel. The idea starts with the search for suitable land, one that could allow the tubes were part of the landscape and the foothills of the Sierra del Tepozteco. It definitely is not a specifically economic construction, but if it is a much more accessible building system in a matter of agency, logistics and time. It had approximately U.S. $ 120mil to develop a set of 20 rooms.

With a projection of 20 rooms and began building the first modules. Unlike the hotel Andreas Strauss, we put the room (tubes) in three modules (pyramid) to tap the ground as possible. The property has 500m2 on the slopes of the mountain, surrounded by jacaranda trees, plum trees and the region forming a magnificent landscape. Each tube has an area of approximately 9 m2, 6m2 esacaleras occupy each other.

Our office (www.t3arc.com) was commissioned to do a general plan and build the first module 3 tubocretos then Tubohotel administration was responsible for building the remaining modules. It was a very simple process given the nature of work, because it was not necessary supervision, much less exhaustive. We think a simple job that can easily develop.

The order of the tubes is random with respect to the topography. Construction took place over a period of 3 months, only the work of a crane, blacksmiths and carpenters who developed inside each tubocretos. Each tube has a double bed on a light MDF structure, has a small bureau, are vented to, bos fronts, from a simple blacksmith with mosquito nets. The interior of the tube is painted to give it over. The site is shaded most of the day, get thermal qualities are pleasing to users, these doors and windows also allow proper air circulation. The views from inside are spectacular, and the experience of dawn in one of them is very special. The cost per night is 500 pesos and VAT and is intended for all types of tourists who want to experience it to other visitors who arrive every weekend in Mexico City and Cuernavaca.

The characteristics of the tubes will be known directly Tubocretos Morelos here some facts:
