The new “Palazzo dell’Edilizia of Alessandria” located next to the Platano di Napoleone, a historical icon of city, is a multi functional building dedicate to all the activities of S.E.AL. S.r.l. (Sistema Edile Alessandria), a public company managing the Union of Construction workers in the Alessandria Province. The building will act as a training facility for construction workers as well as housing the department of safety and security (C.P.T.), and insurance.
The building is organized into 4 different floors for a total gross area of 6.000 m2 + 15.000m2 of parking and an external laboratory. In addition to the union offices, the building will have a laboratory for new technology testing, a school for young workers, and a conference center that can hold up to 250 people.
The aspiration of the project was to create both an iconic building as well as a symbol of sustainability practices and advancements in Italy. Using both geothermal energy and photovoltaic technology Palazzo dell’Edilizia of Alessandria will provide 100% of the energy necessary for the life and work of the building year-round. The most distinctive element is a 50 meters tall photovoltaic tower, a powerful green symbol that will make the building a landmark for the entire region.
