“Forest of Art”
We proposed a place where a park, facilities and the around environment are mixing together like a forest for Ichiharashi-sui & Choukoku no Oka. The existing building at the site would be renovated to enhance the beautiful scenery of the park in front of the structure. Inside and outside, old and new would be harmonized as one space at the place. The condition could be explained as café ore, which is keeping a taste of coffee and milk, but also create a new taste as café ore.
The existing architecture would be completely simplified, keeping only its structure, and new buildings would be placed as if they are holding the old structure gently. The new constructions framed pillars and beams of the exiting building as if they are art piece, and sometimes they create comfortable shadow like a pergola. Nature and architecture, existing and new buildings would create an interactive relationship that they are not only connected but also interfacing with each other to emphasize the beauty of both old and new. We hope visitors could find a new relationship with art works in strolling the art forest.
