In 2007, the Board of Directors and the School’s dean decided to begin an ambitious transformation of their facilities, which had a history of 65 years. To accomplish the plan they hired MGP Arquitectura y Urbanism as the designers and Exacta as the construction managers. Both partners studied in the institution 30 years earlier.

The city of Aalborg has received a new focal point with the Friis shopping centre, designed by C. F. Møller Architects. The shopping centre, which combines new property and a renovation of the former Magasin department store, covers a total area of 60,000 sq m. Of this, 21,000 sq m is occupied by the shopping centre itself, 4,000 sq m by the Cabinn hotel, 5,000 sq m by offices and 35,000 sq m by an underground car park with room for 850 cars.

The Detroit Public Schools Children’s Museum breathes a fresh experimental air into the process of public education. Blessed with a diverse and significant collection of cultural and historical artifacts, the museum ventures into a pioneering effort to teach children within a new pedagogical framework that is simultaneously classroom, interactive exhibit, and gallery. The new home for the museum, a notable object of Detroit history itself, is a former 1913 Detroit Edison substation in the New Center Area of Detroit, Michigan.
