Transparent Park Bridges in Brandenburg, Germany by Bulant & Wailzer (designed with Rhino and AutoCAD)

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Article source: Bulant & Wailzer

In the dreamed and romantic palace park, designed by the famous classicistic landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné, the appearance of the eight small bridges with different lengths, from 2 to 10 meter, should be very discreet and in harmony with the historical environment. Nevertheless we choose glass as building material as indication for our time and a modern building technology. During the day the transparent glass bridges are disappearing in the environment through their mirroring and reflecting. In the night they become visible through the magic light that they radiate from bellow.

Tsujita La in Los Angeles, California by SWeeT co.,ltd

Article source: SWeeT co.,ltd

I put 25000 of wooden sticks, which was shaped like drum stick on the ceiling. In order to increase a reality of clouds, I calculate the focal length between eye line and wooden sticks and use that length for the stick length. Also I made difference on the distance between stick each other so that to make a stereoscopic effect to wooden cloud.

The New Taipei City Museum of Art in Taiwan by Zerafa Architecture Studio

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Article source: Zerafa Architecture Studio

The New Taipei City Museum of Art should propose a new paradigm for celebrating art in Taipei, one that brings lifestyle, art, recreation and education together to celebrate a vibrant cultural identity for the community. The fusion of art with all aspects of one’s daily experience is driven by ideas about the intrinsic relationship between art and life relevant in popular contemporary culture in Taiwan. The new museum seeks to embody these ideas and provide an iconic venue for the spontaneous unfolding of contemporary life. The existing park located at the meeting of the Yingge and Dahan rivers within which the Museum sits, is one that immediately reveals a dynamic juxtaposition between the constructed nature (the park environment) and the density and “urban” scale of the surrounding hillside context.  The somewhat auspicious relative condition of these two abstract realities, both organic, yet both man-made provides the perfect setting for this museum.

A Wood Screen for Dinant Road in Belgium by Corbacreative Designed using Vectorworks and Cinema 4D

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Article source: Corbacreative

Customer’s program was clear and well defined. The building should include an exhibition hall at the ground floor and a loft on the first level; as well as become the image of Maison Passion. The location near by a highly frequented artery inspired the project’s dynamic. The sequence of the vertical wooden boarding became a noise shield frontage designed along the road. The extension,s screen frontage made of thin and spaced out wood, give homogeneity to the existing volumes, heterogeneous and obsoletes, creating a succession of plans more or less translucent. It let see though the background shapes and lift up like a curtain to create the principal entrance of the exposition hall.

Article source: Martin holub Architects

The owner asked for a sybaritic lounge for entertaining including a hot-tub with an adjacent bathroom and laundry. Importantly, he also wanted this addition to be an integral part of the original house and to elevate the design standard of the new whole. He was hoping the addition would turn this unremarkable house by his own admission – into a remarkable one.

Jacobson Carriage House in Mineral, Virginia by Robert Gurney Architect

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Article source: Robert Gurney Architect

As the first phase of a client’s planned move to Lake Anna, Virginia, this guest house and garage becomes the starting point for further development of the site.  Its design sets a precedent of economy thru selection of material and simple methods of construction.  These methods also allowed the client to construct the building himself and become familiar with each material and the most sensible way to use it providing for minimal future maintenance.  These materials, such as concrete block and rusted corrugated metal siding, also ground the building with their timeless sensibilities and embed it to the site.
