Dr.S House in Sendai, Japan by SOY source Architects Designed using Vectorworks, FormZ and Cinema4D

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Article source: SOY source Architects

The composition of volumes and steps is the main theme of this house. We place interior and exterior volumes three-dimensionally.   Series of the volumes overlap each other and create several interior spaces separated loosely without having walls and doors between them.   Utility zone is swelled from floor, a kids’ room is protruded from a wall, and a loft is dangled from a ceiling.   Rests of the spaces are distributed to necessary functions following their special demands.

Busan Opera House in South korea by Lacoste+Stevenson Architects

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Article source: Lacoste+Stevenson

To maximise the amount of parkland and allow large outdoor events to take place on the new island created in the port of Busan, South Korea, the Opera House is a compact design.  The building is an interpretation of Korean stone art or Suseok.  It is an intriguing, shiny, scaleless object.  When not in use, this solid shape is entirely closed.  In the morning, it opens up like the entrance of a space ship, a large gangway lowers down creating a monumental stair for boarding.

Fire Depatment in Montblanc, France by Arriola & Fiol arquitectes

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Article source: Arriola & Fiol arquitectes

The project is organized around a central hall where the fire trucks are parked. The rest of the program, that is, the sitting and dining room, kitchen and bedrooms in the second floor, are complementary to this main working room. This concept is carried out to the spatial volume of the fire station, where the roof of this central room is extended to the whole building and to its façades. The four doors for the cars, as big squared mouths opening at different directions, reinforce the movement of the building. The alignments of the building and its three dimensional volume refer to the dented line of the Montsant hills in the background.

Omonia Bakery in Queens, New York by bluarch

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Article source: bluarch

This bakery is a brand new project for the family behind the renowned Omonia brand famous for its Greek pastries. It sells pastries and breads prepared on premises in the see-through kitchen. The design of this store celebrates indulgence… the suspension of one’s everyday grind through the consumption of a sweet delight. The space is soft and warm… sexy and decadent… as chocolate.

Mix house into garden
I don\’t want to see the garden but feel like standing in the garden. Two boxes, residence and atelier are located in the large garden. To mix house and garden, the exterior wall are made by glass. I put two boxes with touching by the corner, and put a small glass box beside the corner. People are coming and going between two boxes, and are seeing exterior wall melting into the garden with each other.
