The Westside project, a new center for leisure and shopping in Bern-Brünnen, is an urban scale architecture project totaling 1.5 million sq. ft. In addition to the 55 shops, 10 restaurants and bars, hotel, multiplex cinema, fun bath with wellness center and housing, this mixed-use program radically reinvents the concept of shopping, entertainment and living. Since opening in October 2008, Westside has welcomed a record number of visitors – 1.5 million in the first three months – and currently sees about 15,000-25,000 visitors per day. The Westside project is a joint venture between ADL and Burckhardt & Partner, Bern with Rhomberg Bau AG/Strabag AG and was completed in October 2008.

Henning Larsen Architects has designed a new corporate centre for Novo Nordisk in collaboration with SLA landscape architects and the engineering company Alectia. The corporate centre will be situated in Bagsværd, Denmark, and will house the company’s top management and 1,100 administrative employees.

Close to Bloemendaal, on the edge of the Kennemer dunes, the future site of Villa V is situated. A sustainable home that follows a minimalistic design and shows respect for man and nature alike. Villa V is the first villa to be built in Park Brederode, a unique residential area where the existing flora and fauna are given full rein.
The abbey of Saint Maurice was built almost 1500 years ago. It is situated against a cliff in a section of the road between Geneva and the Simplon Pass. This particular site was likely to be chosen for its defensive position given by the cliff. However the planned fortification proved a failure due to rock fragments falling from the cliff onto the building.

Won first prize at the UIA certified international competition “The Eco-center at the Nakdong River, Busan, Korea” sponsored by Busan City in July 2004 with the basic planning starting in December 2004. This was the first international competition sponsored by the Korean government, which held difficulties in many aspects regarding different standard and acknowledgement for architecture starting from receipt of the prize up till the completion of the building. Large issues were the low design fees (which covered design fee for both Japan and Korean teams based on standard level cost which were on three level rates set up in Korea according to content of work, as well as business trips and translation costs), architectural regulations, contract conformation of architectural design (we could not become the legal contractor), and not being able to get involved in the actual field management.

THE NEW DESIGN OF A CENTRE FOR CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITIONS IN THE GENIELOODS WILL BE THE FUTURE POINT OF DEPARTURE FOR VISITORS OF THE KUNSTFORT IN VIJFHUIZEN.
Wuhan, the capital of central China, stands at the crossroads of nine provinces. Located on the Yangtze river, at its confluence with the river Han, the city is surrounded by lakes and hills. It has a rich history, steeped in legend, and is currently developing at breakneck speed.
The new museum building has been designed in response to its context – to the park, river, city and surrounding mountains. The concept connects the building and its spaces with the unique features of the site and its surrounds.
Its form, spaces and circulation patterns have also been designed to provide a rich and scenographic experience for museum visitors and to offer maximum flexibility in the display and presentation of artworks and multimedia.

Intended to introduce up to 1 million visitors a year to the wonders of Red Rock Canyon, the new Interpretive Facility differs from traditional visitor centers by emphasizing the specific attributes of Red Rock Canyon itself, in lieu of pseudo-natural imitations. Here, visitors are introduced to the relevant science, art and culture that will enhance their experience in Red Rock Canyon; strongly encouraging them to visit the nearby real thing.
