Casa AA in Mexico City, Mexico by Parque Humano

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Article source: Parque Humano

This house is an exploration on the trace of a variety of formal and architectural lineages in the ongoing transformation of the modern dwelling that ranges from Neutra´s Kaufmann House to the Case Study Housing Program. This house was designed as a man-made pavilion for observing and living in close proximity to nature. Organized around an open landscape, the result is an L-shaped plan one room wide, an intersection of the two axes radiating from the central living / dining space in which all rooms flank the swimming pool and face the view of the park.

Small Swedish House in Höganäs, Sweden by DinellJohansson (designed using MicroStation)

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Article source: DinellJohansson

This small summerhouse at the coast of Höganäs was modeled after Palladios famous villas in the Veneto. Different from those extraordinary estates, this house is all about spatial economy. The goal was to create a maximum amount of spatial subdivisions in a building whose size was limited by budget constraints. With Palladios villas it shares the intriguing quality of the cross shaped space and the idea of summer life as an utterly joyful experience.

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Article source: AllesWirdGut Architektur ZT GmbH

The new office and shopping building fits in with the typology of detached townhouses in the neighborhood. Slight twists of the basic volume actively impact the surrounding urban fabric: A bent in the longitudinal facade line relates the building to its surroundings, consolidating the adjacent streets and creating a usable plaza before the building.
