Existing contours and infrastructure act as the primary form generator for a new research building at RWTH University – producing a structure which works in symbiosis with the man-made and natural elements that surround it. A structure which harnesses regenerative energy techniques to produce more power than it consumes.

This urban loft space for a single man occupies the entire top floor of a 1920’s concrete frame structure in San Francisco’s Soma neighborhood. The space, essentially a “toolbox” for the owner’s urban lifestyle, is unique in its adaptation of commercial and institutional materials and components to residential functions. Off the shelf laboratory cabinet modules form the kitchen, a customized computer floor forms the sleeping platform, and a precision aluminum framing system creates the enclosure and adaptable framework for an “electronics laboratory”. In some cases, these modular components were customized to specific client requirements.

On a flat site, surrounded by Pecans and abundant vegetation, we were requested to plan a compact efficient house, which will cope successfully with the unique weather conditions characteristic of the Izrael valley. The clients visioned a modest house that will encourage an intimate family atmosphere, and will be easy to maintain.

The St. Pölten Technology Center will accommodate two functions: the training workshops of WIFI Lower Austria and the New Design University, St. Pölten. The central idea that informs our proposal is to bring together these two main functions in one building. For one thing, this keeps valuable development areas free for other uses, and for another, it creates an opportunity for interdisciplinary communication between different users.

This 37 storey residential tower is located above the eastern end of the existing Oasis shopping centre at Broadbeach on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The building is centered over the existing monorail turning circle and is directly linked to the monorail station at level 3 of the shopping centre. The residential tower contains 134 apartments, a gymnasium/health club and landscaped gardens incorporating swimming pools and a tennis court on the roof of the shopping centre.
Being located at the eastern extremity of the site there are uninterrupted views of the beach and ocean to Coolangatta in the south and Surfers Paradise in the north. There are also significant views to the west of the Gold Coast hinterland and the Great Dividing Range.

We were presented with an exciting task in the summer. Two families who are friends had clubbed together and bought a large plot of land, with the idea of sharing and coordinating the building and planning work. The project was all the more fascinating to us, as house-building is such a personal and individual task. However, both families agreed to coordinate the planning so a single unit would be evident despite the existence of two separate family houses, also including the possibility of a shared garden over the centre boundary.

A NEW MUSEUM: AN OPEN MUSEUM EXPERIENCE
More open to a wider public, Contemporary Art Museums are becoming hybrids programs and transforming the way that people approach to art and becoming real places to be. The key issue for New Taipei City Museum of Art is how to gather people and art while integrating the landscape into the museum and the museum into the park? In the “Art as lifestyle strategy” the project attributes equal importance to people than to exhibit spaces and art collections. Seeking a new equilibrium in the museum’s spatial structure, the project considers the people circulation as a raw matter to define and construct the museum experience. The architecture proposes to live the museum as a dynamic experience where people shall have an important role in shaping the museum’s image.
