In the land marked industrial building dating from the last turn of century there are imprints of different eras. It can be compared to an archive layers of time. The building has served as ammunition factory, paint factory and presently as kunsthalle for contemporary art and architecture. The kunsthalle lies in an area with heavy, superannuated industrial buildings, more or less degenerated. This is a landscape that has been left, that is waiting to be demolished and integrated with the surrounding city. Until then, this place lives on its own terms.
To clarify the two axes: The streets are actually crowded by parked cars. This needs to be removed to increase the attractiveness of the area for pedestrians and cyclists. Moreover, the space occupied by cars will be transformed into green areas and pedestrian paths. Space for cars will be limited to one lane, with a separate lane for cycles.

So, which spatial implications shall have Algae’s new technologies, and which potentials integrations could be imagine for Algae bio reactors in central urban areas? Re-use is by far the most sustainable option: that’s why the key issue is how anticipate Algae’s green future in the core of the major cities, transforming existing building, there where most of people live and where emissions of CO2 are the most important.
An enclosed interactive space spanning the River Ebro to form a gateway to the Zaragoza Expo 2008, a hybrid of pedestrian footbridge and exhibition pavilion. Four structural elements correspond to specific spatial enclosures, which intersect and brace each other. This fluid, dynamic design interprets the Expo’s theme: ‘Water and Sustainable Development’.
The client’s goal for this retreat was to create a beautiful series of structures and spaces to sustain the environment and family over the long term where relatives and friends will visit, stay and return again and again and the land will be cared for. The 16 acre site is three miles from the Sleeping Bear dunes on Lake Michigan. 10 acres comprise of a field of crops and 6 acres of a tall beech forest touching 290′ of shoreline of this small inland lake. The solution has entailed restoring the field from crop land to native grasses. Walking pathways were created that align and converge with the entry drive into the forest which leads to the dwellings.

The building is located in the south of Seville, next to the Litany Health Centre and on the corner Avenida de la Paz. The site has dimensions of 24.85m x 35.60m and an area of 884.66 m².
The project is within a plot aimed at urban infrastructure, so that the building’s projection is conditioned by the existence of the adjacent Health Centre located to the north. With access to the underground parking a shared space between both buildings is created.
On a site almost without context because of its vast scale and open development plans, the Istanbul Disaster Prevention and Education Centre (DPEC) represents a new beginning for the Expo area adjacent to the Atatürk International Airport. Today, the area is a typical example of a generic, market driven development without a common goal. It consists of tall isolated buildings trying to express their individuality rather than performing as a coherent whole. The site is situated in a void between city and airport, where public space is nonexistent, isolated buildings are surrounded by their own private sea of parking.
The Prince Naif Centre for Health Science Research is a new building designed for the largest university in Saudi Arabia, King Saud University, situated in the capital of Riyadh. The new Centre of 23,800 m2 comprises world-class research facilities, including facilities for research in cancer, molecular biology, genetics, infectious diseases and several other medical disciplines.
Alchemists live in the Midwest and we love barns. Our clients love barns. Everyone loves barns. Imagine a house that took all the great things about barns and left those other things to the cows? Alchemy designed a house that takes all its clues from the 19th century but updates them for the 21st Century Featuring Barn siding with light filtering through a Few, but large openings, a sleeping loft and bedrooms in the cellar. And, of course, Barn Space an open 2-story room with two volumes inserted within. One in steel, the other in ash strips, they provide under-and over spaces like a hayloft.
The Mosman Park House is located on an elevated site overlooking the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. The house is in two simple parts – a long shed with a transverse fully open able wing.
The north elevation of the shed element is fully glazed and protected with remotely operated louvres to control privacy and allow for complete summer sun exclusion and full winter sun penetration.
