Nakahouse in Hollywood Hills, California by XTEN architecture designed using AutoCAD and Rhino

Nakahouse is an abstract remodel of a 1960’s hillside home located on a West facing ridge in the Hollywood Hills, just below the Hollywood sign. To the South and West are views of the Beechwood Canyon; to the East is a protected natural ravine, with a view of Griffith Park Observatory in the distance.

La Gravera is a winery conceived under low cost criteria, where the optimization in energy and material means and resources become important. Economic sustainability usually comes together with environmental sustainability. A warehouse of the 58, belonging to an old gravel quarry industry, is recovered to reactivate and transform it into a winery, through the disposal of industrial elements.

REMODELLING ROZEMAAI HOUSING ANTWERP / BELGIUM

ATELIER KEMPE THILL WINS EUROPEAN TENDER TRANSFORMATION ROZEMAAI HOUSING – ANTWERP / BELGIUM

Atelier Kempe Thill has recently won the European tender for the transformation of two apartment blocks in the district Rozemaai, Antwerp. In the closed competition five teams were involved. The site, located next to the nature park “de Oude Landen”, calls for an intensification of the relationship with the environment on the one hand, on the other hand to deal with the noise from the highway and the harbour. By creating a new glazed gallery and by closing the open-air areas by using a full glass façade a noise barrier is created around the building.

The orthodontic practice, designed by Atelier H-2-A (Dipl.-Ing. Mona Bayr MSc.), combines a historic interior with a water escape.

The orthodontic practice of Dr.Tina Bayr and Dr. Dominik Spaeth is located in the second oldest building in Ueberlingen, in Germany, built in 1601. Atelier H-2-A faced a few design challenges during the renovation, as the exterior façade, wooden beams and interior columns were held under a preservation law.
