Perry Park in Sydney, Australia by Hassell

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Article source: Hassell

As part of a limited competition for the City of Sydney, HASSELL undertook the challenge to rejuvenate Perry Park in the inner-Sydney suburb of Alexandria.

Taking the themes of sport and ecology, the HASSELL response provides for a range of passive and active recreational activities within a park and wetland setting. Our goal was to create a destination for both individuals and groups; a place where sport and ecology mix seamlessly, support and complement one another in a balanced environment.

Gunoot Eco-Resort in Muscat, Oman by SSH International

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Article source: SSH International

In the remote South of Oman there is a fishing village Shuwaimia on a 30KM virgin beach. Our client is a regional developer interested in developing 1 million square meters of precious land where the mountains meet the Indian Ocean. Various master plans submitted resulted in high density over development and the remoteness of the location made it not feasible financially. We proposed a different approach.

Sited near a quiet countryside site in Beijing, the Artist Village Gallery consists of a private museum and two private houses. The inspiration of the architecture originates from a Chinese watercolor painting, aiming to develop an environment that blurs architectural boundaries with natural surroundings, resulting in a series of fluid spaces that provide the visitor a unique experience.
