Tuesday, September 11th, 2012

Article source: spado architects

The whole area of the Beton- Stahl- und Aspaltringes St.Veit an der Glan covers a large part of the industrial park St. Veit without being visible to outsiders. The aim of the design was, to develop a new headquarter from which the activities of all three  departments can be controlled. In the area of the access road to the business premises a new arrival situation should be generated; a main building for the whole area, easy visible and accessible for arrivals.

Footbridge Over the River Marne in Meaux by DVVD

Saturday, September 8th, 2012

Article source: DVVD

I. SITE – CONTEXT

The footbridge links the centre of Meaux, more particularly the station, to Grand Ile, a medieval district located within a bend of the Marne. The decision to locate the bridge on the bend of the river allows it to provide a greater number of views, and increases the ways in which the structure can interact with its environment.

Article source: Paul Bernier Architecte

The house is in Montréal, on a densely built block in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood. An extension and a transformation of the house had to be made to allow for a family of four. Two rooms had to be added, one for the kids and one for the adults. The house also had to be rethought to make it a coherent project in its spirit and materiality.

The natural beauty of timber is fundamental to this dwelling’s transformation which embraces the ideals of Walter Burley Griffin’s design legacy for Castlecrag – “Building for Nature”.
