This is a house for a family of three in a residential neighborhood of suburban Tokyo. Surrounded by properties subdivided through generations of time, this site maintains its original state. Albeit having plenty of land relative to others, six different adjacent properties with homes built tightly to the boundary leaves the project site with a condition, which limits the project from fully enjoying the advantage of having a deep street frontage with the river. Such meticulous condition of uneven contextual grain at a time of transition from continuing growth and expansion, it shall undoubtedly be emerged in mass in the residential neighborhood. As such, the theme for this project is the approach to architecture and exterior space that receives undulating peripheral density.

How to synthesize a contextual, functional and aesthetic work through an architecture ?
The confidential characteristic of the Passage des Tourelles in the XXth arrondissement of Paris led us to imagine an opened equipment of proximity, a “breathing area” at the heart of a dense urban tissue.
The very particular presence of this nursery is expressed by a voluntarily marked architectural bias. An image shaped by the meeting of two entities where typologies, materials and asserted colours produce a reading which is simple, plural and sequential at the same time.

This project, to be developed in a residential neighborhood in the east area of the city of Lima, belongs to a particular client. The challenge: meet all the requirements of the owner in an irregular piece of land on a hill with steep slopes. The location of the land and the view you have from it towards part of the city, would be decisive for the project.
The main goal of the client, an old lady, was to start a new stage in her life, full of novelty and modernism. The project had to fulfill this need and at the same time guarantee the comfort in her everyday life.

Located at one edge of the city park of Poperinge are the youth building and meeting rooms for the various youth organisations in the city. At this former school site, the existing buildings have been renovated and a new youth centre built. Together with the newly installed playground in the adjacent Burggraaf Frimout Park, this gives rise to a total site for youth. In accordance with the philosophy of BURO II & ARCHI+I, the concept focuses primarily on the sustainable management of the space.

The Portico Group (Seattle, Wash.), the lead architect on the Toledo (Ohio) Zoo Elephant Exhibit Renovation Project, contracted with the JDI Group of Holland, Ohio, to engineer the structural elements for an elephant shade structure. The man-made tree not only had to withstand wind forces and snow loading, but also the impact of a full-grown bull elephant ramming the trunk.

The historic city centre of Constance is characterized by its compactness and homogeneity. The project incorporates the historical formation of the surrounding buildings with its 30m long plots and projects this format into the 10m wide front.
The mixed use building completes the city block towards the high street; the courtyard provides daylight from the south where an arcade offers flexible external areas within the otherwise dense historic city centre.

Beverly Skyline Residence, located in Austin, Texas, is a single-family residence and consumes 2800 sq. feet of its 1-acre property lot. The homes remodeling transformation was taken on by Bercy Chen Studio, a local architecture firm with design and build capabilities. When taking on a new project that has a clear site and limited restrictions, the designer has more flexibility to create and explore new styles, resources, and building materials. However, taking a preexisting home and transforming it into a modern 21st century home, equipped with new building technologies and recyclable energy consumption in mind, creates many obstacles in both the design and construction period and therefore requires more innovation from the designer.

These public toilets are located at the Synergy Plaza in the Kumutoto Precinct, situated at the northern-most end of Wellington’s waterfront. As well as taking into account practical considerations such as security, hygiene and vandalism, the brief was to create a structure with a sculptural form, something iconic, highly visible and unusual that was also well integrated into the visual and historical context of the surrounding precinct.

Petra comes from the Greek and means stone, is not a city built of stone, but literally, carved and sculpted in stone. The origin of the word Petrer comes from Petrea village, which means village or rather stony, with lots of stone.
Appropriating this idea the proposal arises from a stone, rock, mass, … Petrea.
The building, like a quarry operation, generates as a base of operations for stone removal from enhancing the geometries and lines of a pure and sober body.

Due to the situation and the characteristics of the plot, and taking advantage of the free ground floor to generate the access for the center instead of for an end, the project appears as a threshold of access to the Colonies of “Nuestra Señora de los Angeles”, a step between the urban environment and the green space that proposes the plan.
