The orientation of the fire stations and its forecourt parallel to Laupenstrasse underscores the importance of this public institution. The fire station becomes a part of the rural character and shows him his typical and necessary presence. By the position of the building behind the residential development being put off by the noise of Laupenstrasse and disengaging the fire.
The compact building takes its shape in the course of the existing terrain and assigns a in a natural way into the environment. The entrance to the building is on the Eschenstrasse directly connected to the car parks. It is offset halbgeschossig and providing quick access to both the dressing rooms on the ground floor and upstairs to the main office. The placement of the center creates the one hand eye contacts to the foyer and on the other hand on top of the entire garage and forecourt. The upstream Gallery allows call contact to the firefighters and is opening up the rooms upstairs.
The vertical facade surfaces are made of translucent polycarbonate multiwall sheets and provide the day a very good exposure of the interior. At night, let the side walls and the gates of the building in case of use to the street like a lantern lit. It conveys presence and suggests a subtle way even alarm.
