Article source: Divece Arquitectos

The architectonic concept for this residential project is to propose a composition that is achieved by the proper manipulation of “contrasts in balance”; an architecture that is generated as a response to the particularities of the site, the adequate solution for the programmatic family needs, but most important, inspired by the deep motivation for the search of the supreme well being of its inhabitants.

Article source: Kotaro Horiuchi Architecture

For a traditional Japanese restaurant in the underground commercial space under Nagoya Station, we started by analyzing the time transversal components of architecture, themes such as metric, gradation, rhythm and transparency, giving them a contemporary twist. We used one of the primordial volumes to spur the feeling of familiarity, the cube.

Normally, clinic is definitely not one of a destination to be thought of, except for the time of sickness or unwell. But to care more about your health and have it checked up from time to time won’t be such a bad idea. GLEN 2961 House in Higgovale, Cape Town by SAOTA

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

Article source: SAOTA

The clients who lived in an existing house on the property needed to rebuild the house in order to suit the demands of their family. The site on Glen Avenue in Higgovale faces in a Northerly direction, with its boundaries on the South East. Although the wind conditions are tough, the site’s moderate slope allows the design to engage with different levels of the garden adjacent to the areas of the three level lounge.

My Panda in Tokyo, Japan by Torafu Architects

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

Article source: Torafu Architects

Located at the basement level of Shibuya’s PARCO Part 1 Building, we have designed the interior and exterior of the store for new fashion label ‘my panda’. From ‘Smiles’, the company which created brands such as ‘PASS THE BATON’ and ‘giraffe’, this label is based on a ‘two-tone’ theme. We wanted to design a store which could become iconic to the fashion label such that it may be easily recognized.

The Cabin French Alps in Menuires, France by H2o Architectes

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

Article source: H2o Architectes

Our design team was invited to rethink a ski resort apartment in Menuires, France. Located at the far end of a building built in 1965, it has triple orientation that was not valued by the previous layout which was too segmented. The request was to realize the impossible : increase the living space without touching the structure, create 2 bathrooms instead of the one existing, preserve the number of beds, 8 beds in 55m2, all while maintaining separate circultaions for each.
