Article source: Díaz & Díaz Arquitectos

Redes is a small fishing village of the early twentieth century, situated on the northern edge of the estuary of Ares located in the Galician Rias Altas. This town was awarded by the College of Architects in the International Day of Architecture 2009 for preserving the original design in the planning. The town is also known as the “Galician Venice” because of the proximity of the buildings to the sea.

An Elementary School Near Warsaw in Podkowa Leśna, Poland by Grupa 5 Architekci

Saturday, October 20th, 2012

Article source: Grupa 5 Architekci

An elementary school in a picturesque and tranquil suburbian town near Warsaw.

The building is embedded in a unique setting in the center of the town – surrounded by freestanding family houses, intimate gardens and an old church. In order to tie in to the existing context, the relatively large object was divided into several smaller ones, with the largest part – the gym hidden at the back.

Roberto Cantoral Music Hall in Coyoacán, Mexico by Broissin Architects

Saturday, October 20th, 2012

Article source: Broissin Architects

Inspired in the movement of a conductor´s baton, the building design is composed of five concrete roofs moving up and down in harmony to give shape, space and light to the project. Each roof represents a staff´s line, always straight, constant and parallel.

We are looking forward to create a project that lives for the site trees as these will live as a part of it. We cannot think about a dark and traditional concert hall when the project is being developed in a forest area with huge and old trees.

SODAE House in Amsterdam, Netherlands by VMX Architects

Saturday, October 20th, 2012

Article source: VMX Architects

The SODAE-House is the house of the architect. The site is a private island at an intersection of waterways, south of Amsterdam. It is one of the precious pieces of unspoiled polder landscape, left open just outside the city. If the current trend of rapid urbanisation continues, it will soon be one of the last pieces of characteristic Dutch landscape in this part of the Netherlands. It is the choice of this particular spot, that is to say the perception of the landscape, which has dictated the character of the design.
