Thursday, September 6th, 2012

Article source: Gramazio & Kohler

This public toilet, which has been developed for the city of Uster in 2011, is a prototype for a new typology of urban infrastructure which will be installed, in different variations, at several places on the city territory over the next few years. The parametric design of its façade, consisting of folded, vertically arranged colored aluminum strips, can adapt to changing building sizes and shapes as well as, through its color scheme, to the surrounding context.

This “South Water Caress” eight family house, located at United Nations Road, Baridhara diplomatic zone. Guest House in Bologna hills by Enrico Iascone Architetti

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

Article source: Enrico Iascone Architetti

This small residence, built within a larger property, commissioned as a residence for guests. was derived from the demolition of an existing building. The project idea was to create a lantern, visible from different angles as a sign in the landscape. In this context of great beauty, the goal of using environmentally friendly materials, sustainable technologies, is facing the choice of wood, both as a structural element such as a skin for the building, in order to create a bond with the context that is reinforced by the choice of colors which blend the color of the trees to the color of the volume in her tone.

Extension Of Public School “Es Cremat” By Duch-Piza Arquitectos

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

Article source: Duch-Piza Arquitectos

Extension of an old school in which we had to keep the central cloister. Because of its slope, the plot was divided into  thin  terraces. The section of the building contains in its interior outdoor spaces, lit naturally  from  the roof, which are linked on an ascending tour and can remain open in non opening school hours. The former cloister, turned into a big assembly hall, appears on a diagonal view from the entrance hall.  The gym was partially buried, expanding the horizontal extent of the plant and we place a sports track on its roof. This area, separate from the school by a courtyard, has independent access from the side street.
