HAMBURG, GERMANY – In the Bergedorf district, the Laser Zentrum Nord (North Laser Center) pioneers the future of the German steel-construction industry. Here, students and faculty of the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg can explore how laser-technology can be used for cheaper and more accurate construction and welding techniques. Accordingly, the Laser Zentrum Nord itself rises from the ground in long, straight, laser-beam-like lines.

This house is designed with prime focus with landscape. This is a first climate oriented house plan. It has a summer garden and a winter garden. Here the plan forms “Z”. Thus it creates two garden spaces on south side and north side, the south side garden is designed like a “forest ” to help tree plantations to create shadows on the building. This used of garden gets sun in morning till late evening, thus ideal to use in winter. Kappl is a small village in the mountains of Tyrol in Austria. The main task of this project was to create an attractive village square between the existing church and a nearly 40 º inclined slope. The new buildings were thus situated as to form a U-shaped outside space with the church adding the southern closure.

Article source: Architekturbuero Roettger

The historic context of the “WHITE CITY” of Tel Aviv with its unique assemblage of “Bauhaus-Architecture” inspired this residential design. The solid geometrical volume joins those of its prominent neighbors, inserting a contemporary interpretation of that style. The body of the building is a concrete structure, a rectangular volume cast in situ with rounded edges.

The property is located in the Wairau Valley, 10 minutes from Blenheim and close to the Wairau River as it snakes along the edge of the northern hills, a patterned rural landscape of farms, orchards and vineyards. The house has a strong connection to the land spatially and materially. There is a sense of encampment, where different interlinked pavilions offer different areas of occupation and Privacy or openness.

Levin Residence in Arizona by Ibarra Rosano Design Architects

Saturday, February 16th, 2013

Article source: Ibarra Rosano Design Architects

Three simple volumes hover above the desert, responding to the challenges of a sloping site and to an ethic of building with minimal disruption to the natural environment. The available buildable area was bifurcated by a minor drainage-way, which inspired the architects to leave the cars behind and link the parking area to the main house by a bridge that allows rainwater and wildlife to flow beneath it.

We were commissioned to design the premises of a newly opened hair salon within a multi-tenant building located in Kyobashi, an old downtown area of Osaka. During our visit, we found the site to be a pleasant, well-lit space with many windows. The owner’s requirements were for “a styling space that brings sunlight into the interior while also hiding the exterior landscape from view.”
