Chez Vous @ Sundance in Mumbai, India by Shroffleon

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

Article source: Shroffleon

Located within the historic Art Deco building that holds the Eros Theater within the colonial part of the Mumbai, the recently unveiled French Bistro Chez Vous occupies the space that previously housed the iconic Sundance Cafe. A reinterpretation of the classic European Eatery, the treatment of the white, black and green interiors plays off an iconic French Art Nuevo motif, by allowing for its contemporary reinterpretation, whilst translating it across various scales, textures and usages. The brief handed over to the architects demanded a contemporary understanding of a traditional French Bistro, complete with identifiable elements such as a long serving bar, multiple backboards and French inspired moldings, hosting approximately 70 covers. The primary concern, to both client and the designers was in crafting out a delicate balance between a traditional bistroesque atmosphere and an upscale South Mumbai destination, being mindful to not simply the re-creation of a mid-twentieth century Parisian coffee shop within a contemporary Indian city.

Article source: Rueda Pizarro Arquitectos

To think about a nursery school involves attending a complex duality of scales. And involves to create a space where live very different perceptions together: teachers and children who are developing their cognitive abilities. Therefore, few buildings have the capacity to be formative spaces.

The mountainside property is surrounded by vast rice paddies and fields for growing vegetables, and a narrow waterway winding around them. Between these fields are scattered houses and sheds. Lot 2, Jardins de la Lironde in Montpellier, France by Farshid Moussavi Architecture

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

Article source: Farshid Moussavi Architecture

The City of Montpellier intends to stimulate and encourage architectural innovation through the construction of twelve architectural “Follies” on its brownfield sites. In the eighteenth century, local aristocrats and bourgeoisie commissioned architects to build a number of elegant homes, les Folies Montpelliéraines, on the outskirts of the city. These buildings, including the castles of Flaugergues, de la Mogère or de la Mosson, marked the architectural history of the city and are still an integral part of its identity. Three centuries later, the City of Montpellier seeks to continue this tradition of innovative architecture. The residential complex for Lot M2 is the first of the twelve follies to be built.
