XYZ Cultural Technology created both the technical concept and the programming for the multimedia installation that brings to life the night-time sound-and-light show projected on the façade of the new Gran Museo del Mundo Maya in Merida, Mexico. “It’s an immense, dynamic visual and audio panorama that traces the history of the Maya community,” explains Jacques Larue, partner at XYZ, “entrenched in the birth of the world and bearing the seeds of the Yucatán’s modern identity.”
A new flagship institution in Montréal, the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium follows on an international architecture competition won by architecture and design consortium Cardin Ramirez Julien + Ædifica. Their winning proposal stood out from those of some 60 candidates for the quality and imagination of its concept.

Zeidler Partnership Architects with local architects Moore Architects + M. Brestovisky Architects and Urban Designers, is one of 15 firms to be presented with a 2013 Ontario Association of Architects Award tomorrow evening at the OAA Celebration of Excellence Awards and Dinner. The event will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, hosted by OAA President Bill Birdsell and Master of Ceremonies, Ben Mulroney. Zeidler will be receiving an award for the Assuta Medical Center project.

Multidisciplinary design studio +tongtong recently completed a bold, layered interior for Annie Aime, the latest Toronto retail space from Parisienne fashion retailer Annie Mesenge. Designed to be a flexible, open-concept environment that can easily be transformed into a space for art openings and other events, the interior is one of the first to implement +tongtong’s recently launched Les Ailes Noires series of freestanding clothing racks.
Reorganization of an old agricultural college to include four meeting rooms, classrooms, activity rooms – Construction of a building of 1050 m² including an auditorium with 300 seats, a dance studio, a gym, a foyer and a exhibition space. With its terrace filled with magnificent trees and traditional houses, the Place de l’Abbaye is one of the most beautiful places in the village of La Châtre.
