The plot is situated on the edge of a steep plateau and occupies the borderline position in the row of houses. This position invited a plentiful of interpretations of open and closed spaces.
One of the aims of this project was to create a harmonious interrelation between the house, the garden and the sea view. These three environments are placed each along its own line and they interact in a variety of ways, depending on the position of the observer.

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., one of the nation’s premier healthcare builders, has begun construction of the new 74,000-square-foot Heart and Vascular Center at Grossmont Hospital, located at 5555 Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa, Calif.

McCarthy was retained by the Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD), with CEO Barry Jantz and the publicly elected GHD board members providing oversight. Sharp HealthCare is the operator of Grossmont Hospital through a 30-year lease that was executed with the District in 1991.

Proposition G, a $247 million bond measure approved by voters of the East County region in June 2006, is funding the project, budgeted at $26,325,383 in construction costs. As proposed in the hospital’s Facilities Master Site Plan, Prop. G is funding several other infrastructure construction improvements at the publicly owned hospital, which opened in 1955.

Main Concept
Rationality and Sensibility, the both terms are the base that establishes human culture or intelligence.
Human’s rationality is revealed through philosophy, mathematics and science whereas the sensibility is freely expressed in our lives in the form of art, music, literature, etc.
The both terms can be interpreted into architectural language, where the rationality is defined as a Library and the sensibility is depicted as a Fine Arts Museum.

Pink Flamingo in Paris, France by Stephane Maupin

Wednesday, July 10th, 2013

Article source: Stephane Maupin

The new building takes place on the east Side of Paris, a new area build over rail tracks. All the difficulty was to make a construction without any foundation. The project is installed above big concrete slabs overcoming trains in motion. So vertical columns are like pink flamingo’s legs. They are installed on 27 small spring boxes connecting the ground floor. Those boxes prevent all trains vibrations to students’ cells.
