Evill House in Nelson, New Zealand by Studio Pacific Architecture

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013

Article source: Studio Pacific Architecture

This house at Twisted Pine is set on four hectares of undulating land on a promontory near Mapua in the tidal waters of the Waimea Inlet.
The land was covered for many years in tall pine trees, which were cleared to open the site to the water and views. This pine timber was milled and forms the basis of the house itself, meaning that the house’s fabric is literally from the land upon which it sits. Making the most of their impressively large spans, the massive timber beams and columns crafted from these 80-year-old pines were arranged in three long, low wings around a central courtyard.

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013

Article source: LLI Design

The brief was to create a 700 square foot extension to house an open plan kitchen / living / dining room to this lateral house in Highgate, North London.

The house is in a very secluded position, surrounded by greenery, completely hidden from view, the only clue as to what lies beyond is a simple discrete gate set in the fence.

Polyvalent Social Center in Granada, Spain by Elisa Valero Ramos

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013

Article source: Elisa Valero Ramos

Southeast of the city, where building is sparser in contact with the last foothills of the Sierra Nevada, is the neighborhood of Lancha del Genil. That is where this Polyvalent Social Center is located. It provides a shared space for the development of neighborhood life, a place for activities to meet, a hybrid between indoors and out, an ambiguous space in which lines of force cross and emptiness takes on its own value.

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013

Article source: Concrete Architectural Associates

The concept of the Canal House has been to build a luxury boutique hotel which offers all the service you expect from a five star plus hotel combined with the welcoming and warm feeling you get from a home. The aim was to create a true home away from home, in a house which you could use nearly as if it would be your own. Next to the individual rooms the guests have the opportunity to stay in the living room, the parlor room with a house bar, the garden and even in the kitchen according to their needs and mood.

Article source: Anagrama

Monterrey, the third largest city in Mexico, is best known for its beautiful mountains and strong industrial backbone. In the heart of the city is Fundidora Park, a unique specimen of industrial archaeology (it was previously a massive steelworks and foundry established in 1900). The park is home to extensive gardens, museums, convention centers, auditoriums, theme parks and cultural venues such as Conarte (Council for the Culture and Arts of Nuevo León).
