FUZI pedestrian Candido in Innichen, Italy by AllesWirdGut Architektur ZT GmbH

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

Article source: AllesWirdGut Architektur ZT GmbH

Conversions of old city centers into traffic-free shopping and tourists’ malls have frequently been performed according to trite recipes. The shops’ increase in turnover mostly stands in opposite to the commercial alienation of old structures – a process of ‘gentrification’ in which old substance is scenically pepped up, while local societies are hollowed out and superseded.

Housing Complex in Niigata, Japan by TAKUYAHOSOKAI + Hirose Architects

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

Article source: TAKUYAHOSOKAI

Noh, a traditional, Japanese performance art, serves as the main inspiration for the architectural concept. The performance of Noh is heavily reliant upon the use of delicately carved masks. Although at first these masks may appear to present a neutral expression they are formed in such a way as to convey a broad emotional spectrum.

PAROLE – Champ-dollon 1/24 in Switzerland by Bureau A

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

Article source: Bureau A

In Switzerland there is a current trend for professional tranquility and particularly so in the world of architecture where architects prefer to satisfy their commissions in studied silence. Everything is in the doing and doing as perfectly as possible. All is in how to answer properly, more than in the question itself.
