Kokaistudios and Moleskine began their cooperation to open the first Moleskine flagship Concept Store in Xintiandi in Shanghai and since then have collaborated on 5 other stores including the Beijing flagship, Moleskine largest concept store globally, which is located in Taikoo Li Sanlitun, where heritage architecture inspires modern living at the heart of city’s design district.

Basing ourselves on the worldwide store concept guideline developed at the Moleskine headquarters in Milan, Kokaistudios adapted the concept based on our knowledge of the China market and made a few twists in the design to adopt local consumer behavior. The store is designed corresponding to the brand philosophy as an open space, just like the Moleskine notebooks, to be filled with unbounded creativity, stories and imagination, a format that also helps to maximize the displays. The on-floor traveling map reflects the modern mobile life; constantly moving, exploring and recording, and the freestanding display table is in the center of the space is designed to encourage customers to try out and discover the products that fit their lifestyle the best. Moleskine Taikoo Li Sanlitun Concept Store offers a new place in the city dedicated to the celebration and appreciation of imagination.

Detour, a Moleskine project dedicated to worldwide culture and creativity that features internationally recognized artists, architects, film directors, graphic designers, illustrators, and writers, has already kicked off in London, New York, Paris, Berlin, Istanbul, Tokyo, and Shanghai. This time in Beijing, the exhibition presents a small piece of the Moleskine journey where interlacing stories merge; Moleskine notebooks created by Chinese and international architects and designers will be on display in the Moleskine Taikoo Li Sanlitun Store during 2013 Beijing Design Week.
