The Museum of the Human Body, which will be part of the newly developed area Parc Marianne, is rooted in the humanist and medical tradition of Montpellier and its world renowned medical school, which dates back to the 10th century. The new Museum will explore the human body from an artistic, scientific and societal approach through cultural activities, interactive exhibitions, performances and workshops.

As part of the redevelopment of the former Brewinc College into a housing & culture cluster the old practice rooms of this former trade school are transformed into 24 starter homes, with ample outdoor space and integrated parking facilities. With this redevelopment in the centre of Doetinchem a unique combination of “Facilities for the city” and “relaxed living in the centre” is realised.
The site is located in a crowded residential area facing a landscaped water reserve tank. A sacred grove with tall trees over 15 meters surrounds the shrine grounds. The project consists of a gathering space and support area for shrine activities on the first floor with rental offices helping to cover administrative costs on the second floor.
Muelle Kay is a new seafood restaurant, located in the city of Merida, Yucatan in southeastern Mexico. The word Muelle means dock or pier in Spanish and Kay comes from the Mayan word fish. The goal of this project was to create a space that felt like a homey restaurant along the pier, so we decide to use materials that are commonly seen and accessible in local ports such as crates for exhibiting fish, wooden planks , ropes and sailcloth among others in a re interpretative way, achieving a modern yet casual style.
The two-story brick building on the corner of West Broadway and N. Moore Street lies at the edge of the TriBeCa West Historic District. The 1870s-era structure itself was singled out for preservation on account of its distinctive corbelled brick work, prominent location, unusual acute plan, low massing, and multitude of French- and double-hung windows.
Every single year, Madrid council asks some of the most important designers, architects or courtiers to make designs for Madrid’s streets. Teresa Sapey was asked to conceive Serrano Street’s Christmas lighting.
Placed in one of the most luxurious neighbourhoods in Madrid, Serrano Street is well known for the high fashion designer’s shops. It seemed to be a very difficult task, but Teresa thought this was a very good chance to lighten up the street using very colourful and geometric designs. Her aim was to the grey and cold Serrano into a warm place, filled with colour.
Kurosaki Tully’s Coffee, a chain shop, provides some new challenges to increase the number of shops.
Since this shop is directly connected to the local city station, there are various customers. With this situation, we proposed a special suggestion. That was, to create an identity in total and to purposely design separate customers’ seats.
HAO has been commissioned to create an idea proposal for the regenerated use of the Domino Sugar Factory in Brooklyn, NY.
The Domino Sugar Factory is situated on the East River waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Now abandoned, the original factory dates back to 1856 and was once the epicenter of sugar processing in the US. Since closing in 2004, the site and its buildings have stood empty.
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the residence lies along the southern edge of a hillside overlooking a mountain lake and expansive views beyond. The design of the home sought to sensitively root and connect it to its place, enhancing the owners’ ability to experience all aspects of the land and the home together.
On a former sports field within the ring road of the Dutch town of Groningen, a new residential district is being realised by creating a ‘scenery landscape’. This plan achieves the coherence and transition between the ‘garden vilage’ De Oude Hoogte and the industrial area on the northern side of the ring road. The division into sequential living atmospheres provides a varied range of housing typologies.
