Located in Palo Alto, the goal to expand and open spaces that flow in a smaller Eichler while increasing the amount of shelving place for books, magazines and archives from work for a retired owner preparing for aging-in-place. The design was intended to brighten and welcome land-locked rooms with skylights and using beam bays to expand the hallway and kitchen.
This two-family house is located in Orsara di Puglia (southItaly), in a hill slope called Piano Paradiso.
The house is composed by an underground level, designed as garage, a groundfloor and an attic.
The main feature of this project is the roof, indeed it is modelled by the combination of three different skillion roofs with opposite orientation: two pointed towards the town centre and one oriented to the mountains. The entrance is placed on one side, connected with a minor street running along the slope.

The library and learning centre is one of seven buildings that make up the new campus at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien), designed to accommodate 24,000 students and 1800 staff. The most distinctive feature of Zaha Hadid’s 28,000-square-metre building is a large black volume that is perched over the roof and cantilevers out across a public square at the main entrance.
Conversions of old city centers into traffic-free shopping and tourists’ malls have frequently been performed according to trite recipes. The shops’ increase in turnover mostly stands in opposite to the commercial alienation of old structures – a process of ‘gentrification’ in which old substance is scenically pepped up, while local societies are hollowed out and superseded.

Village House
Powerhouse Company was asked to design a weekend house for a young family in northern Sjælland, Denmark. Village House is an exploration on the possibilities of the Summer cabin, the traditional Danish vacation home. While keeping the cabin’s footprint small, spatial as well as sustainable, there is a wide range of spatial possibilities, by using a five-fingered floor plan.
