Article source: The Principals

Building on their interactive research projects, The Principals have designed an analog interactive space for the clothing brand EVERLANE entitled Workshop. Located at 74 Gansevoort St. in the Meatpacking District of NYC, Workshop was designed as an adaptive space and is part of Everlane’s “Not a Shop” series started this past summer. Selling clothes only online, the space serves as a physical manifestation of their primarily digital presence; replacing coded interaction with physical interaction.

Museum De Fundatie in Zwolle, situated on the border between the mediaeval city centre and the open 19th century parkland with its canals, has been extended with a spectacular volume on the roof of the former Palace of Justice.

The courthouse on Blijmarkt was designed by the architect Eduard Louis de Coninck in 1938 in the neo-classical style. De Coninck intended this style of architecture to symbolise the unity in the legislation of the new kingdom. The building has a double symmetry with a monumental entrance and a central entrance hall extending over two floors.

PRESENCE OF VOIDS by atelier rzlbd

Article source: atelier rzlbd

Where we are is where things are not. We inhabit the blankness, and we observe the limitations. We allow the presence of physique distract us from our own imagination. We welcome their dictatorship as they rule our ways of life. But let us all fly over the cuckoo’s nest and “be” not the prisoners of objects.

Conference and Coaching Center in Stollhof, Austria by cp architektur

Wednesday, January 29th, 2014

Article source: cp architektur

The challenge of the project was to plan a medium conference- and coaching centre for multinational Fast Moving Consumer Goods companies.

The architectural form establishes a symbiosis between the landscape and building topography with the aim to steer the eye towards nature and the site. Through the adaption of the prevailing site topography in the building shape – in form of roof pitches and ascending ramps – the visual perception of the site is reflected.

SPAR decided to open its new supermarket at a shopping mall called MOM Park, situated in the heart of a wealthy district of Budapest. They had the idea of building up a unique interior, which provides a high quality costumer experience. To chose the designer of this flagship store, they invited architects and interior designers to take part in a non-open competition, and submit sketches of ideas. LAB5 architects won because of the look and feel of a market space, with a friendly industrial atmosphere. Luckily later 90% of the original ideas could have been realised.
