Needing an innovative and cool space for the rapidly growing Sunnyvale team, Comcast partnered with Design Blitz to create a cutting-edge, collaborative new office.
There is something in every project that comes from visiting the site and listening to clients. And there is also an interesting part at the beginning of every project that comes from the everyday training.
While the first is a very attractive translation job, the second has to do with the positive part of experience.
The multi brand and shared areas for the women’s clothing floor on the third floor of the Seibu department store in Tokyo’s Shibuya. The ‘contemporary luxury’ floor presents multiple brands together in a unified environment, but each brand needs to be gently distinguished from the others.
Seen from a distance the floor plates projecting from the facade with their elliptical openings look like flying carpets with ornamental borders. For the residents these elliptical openings generate a sense of distance, since they prevent neighbours from seeing into each other’s apartments. At the same time the correspondence between each of these round forms and the individual apartments gives residents a feeling of living alone in a centre. The perception of space changes according to the point of view and the position of the sun.
The design and creation of a whimsical and sophisticated environmental installation at the site of the entertainment venue Orchid.
The installation is an extension of the performance. A “Garden of Pleasure” starts at the initial view of the gateway location and continues to the peripheral fence. It culminates in the areas surrounding the “spiegeltent” and welcomes spectators before and after each performance. Several factors are considered in the design of the environmental installation of the Orchid venue. The aesthetics of the traditional “spiegeltent”, the iconic fences of nomadic circuses, and the essence of the venue, located in the celebrated Miami Design District, all contribute to the elegant and innovative installation.

By introducing the ‘Skate+Park’ concept, EFFEKT has created a new type of multi-functional and recreational urban park area that bridges user groups of diverse interests and age.
In the spring of 2013, Lemvig Municipality faced a group of citizens eager to transform an empty industrial lot on the city’s harbour front into an area of leisure and recreation. In order to meet the demands of the local population, EFFEKT worked closely with representatives from different user groups to develop a new type of urban space. The result of this collaboration was an integrated skatepark + urban park that offered a range of programmatic features and recreational opportunities. Set in beautiful surroundings, the park has created a new social space in Lemvig, attracting skaters and families from the entire region.
Approached by a private landlord, ma hoRe architects were appointed to develop the design for the extension of a building in Innsbruck that consists of office spaces in the ground floor as well as apartments in the upper levels.
The spirit of the Guanahani design can be defined as a spontaneous gesture of courtesy: A hug and removal of a hat off a head. A hat is an iconic piece that is associated to the outdoors; it offers protection to the head as the roofs provide shelter to a house.
