Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Article source: Mizuishi Architects Atelier

This is a small house built in the corner plot that is before coming to a dead end. Residents are husband and wife and two young boys. It is the location of the favorable conditions facing the roads in south and east. But because the neighborhood residents come and go , it was a challenge how to take the outside and how to open the inside, even while making living areas calm.

 by UNarquitectura

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Article source: UNarquitectura

The request was to build a tree house…

Located on the creek, elevated by pilotis, it is accessible through a bridge and has views at the level of the foliage of trees.

The house “breaks” adapting to the slope and differentiating the private and public space within a single enclosure. It also captures the views of the forrest and the sky.

Q2 APARTMENT in Saint Petersburg, Russia by MODOM

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Article source: MODOM

Contrast is integrated into the structure of the apartment. It shows the ambiguous and unstable condition of dark and light parts, while the body of the apartment remains intact. There is no actual feeling of contrast thanks to large dimensions and proportions weight. The dark parts represent depth, and the light ones produce expanse, which allows the inner space to balance its parts between each other. Lots of engineering requires ideal spaces.

Oakley House by Benjamin Waechter, Architect

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Article source: Benjamin Waechter, Architect

A pre-existing 28’ x 28’ foundation was used as a starting point for the Oakley House. Using this footprint constraint, the house was built anew on top of this existing foundation. To accommodate 4 bedrooms the second story cantilevers out in the front and back of the house, providing the upstairs with adequate room while simultaneously creating covered outdoor space on both ends. From the side elevation, the house profile takes on the form of a “T.”

The motif was a summation of sketches from several standpoints. The most recognisable position was close to where the viewpoint platform is built today.

PROMENADE 1 K. Street and Square in Alicante, Spain by Joaquín Alvado Bañón

Tuesday, March 18th, 2014

Article source: Joaquín Alvado Bañón

The shape of the main street and the square in “Pilar de la Horadada“ were very irregular, with a lot of sharecropping walls, patched parking and twisted lines of trees. We thought about a walk besides the sea, a pedestrian path between sand, palms and coconuts.
