MAIN STREET HOUSE in Seattle, WA by SHED Architecture & Design

Located in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood the Main Street House takes its name from the unimproved right of way and pedestrian path that bounds its site to the north. The single family house was built for a husband and wife, both geologists, nearing retirement but actively working from home.

Boutique Hostel Forum + Café Forum in Zadar, Croatia by STUDIO UP + DGD (Damir Gamulin Design)

The Zadar Peninsula. Roman Forum. Between the St. Anastasia’s Cathedral and the Archeological Museum. The place of intervention is Bruno Milić’s office and housing complex from 1964, which has been converted into 37 rooms with 111 beds. The existing spatial limits were transformed, using new drywall geometries, color rasters, rhythms of ceramic tiles, glossy varnish, acrylic reflective boards and tinted mirrors, to create a new relation towards the antique, modernistic heritage and nature.

CONSTRUCTED BUILDING AWARD AT IAB MG: INSTITUTE OF BRAZILIANARCHITECTS, MINAS GERAIS SECTION’s XV YEARLY PRIZE 2013

The Monet apartments building is located on a plot in a ‘ L’ shape in the hilly district of Cruzeiro in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and is a building of 13 floors with 18 apartments of approximately 80.00 m2 each, divided on levels of different configurations generating variations in the apartments shapes showing different terraces, double heights spaces or multi oriented balconies.

Angela Nikoletti Square, Bolzano in Italy by Roland Baldi architects

The new public square gives access to the different structures of the district center and the adjacent urban park. It also acts as a meeting ground for the residents and offers people a space for outdoor events. The square is paved with a with two-tone cobblestone zebra pattern from white Lasa marble and black basalt. Through an undulating elevation of the paving in the northeast area of the square a planter with seat function with different heights and different inclinations was created.

Boathouse Home Office in Aberdeen, Hong Kong by Bean Buro

The apartment is located inside a high-rise residential building in Hong Kong’s Aberdeen, in close proximity to the Ap Lei Chau shipyard.

In response to the growing trend of working-from-home culture, Bean Buro designed the apartment with large panoramic windows facing the sea boating sceneries in Aberdeen, as a balanced calm and dynamic home office for an expat couple.

From an abandoned warehouse to a new entertainment office in the meatpacking district.

D·LIM architects converted a previously abandoned warehouse in the meatpacking district of Doksan into music record label, Stardom Entertainment’s new office. Located in Seoul, the area has been in steady decline, with the traditional market (originally founded in 1973) also struggling.

We understand that the city is not the sum of individual buildings , but it is the practice of the people that run that, enrich and keep evolving, people mobilized by the architecture in terms of its use and location. Whether for obvious economic and functional reasons, finally opting for the complete demolition of the existing building (apart from the historical value of it, it was only linked to emotional and age old aspects, and not like others of architectural quality and condition ), taking into account the strong link with the history of the municipality of the existing building, and the sensitivity of many people who grew up with the urban image of this, the first city Council of Benidorm.

Space with total area of 603 sq.m on the top floor of a former furniture factory was transformed into a 748 sq.m by the erection of four local platforms of welded metal constructions. Spacious loft has included seven working areas for a total of 100 seats, an extensive coffee zone, mini-hostel on 5 beds, children’s room, 3 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms.
