CASA SEA OF LIGHT in Paracas, Peru by Oscar Gonzalez Moix

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Article source: Oscar Gonzalez Moix

The premise in the development of this project was always keep the visual into the bay and keep the horizon present in every area of the house. We should place the functions so the spaces will connect visually, the transparency should be the primary axis of the first floor.

Casa C in Milan, Italy by Francesco Librizzi Studio

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Article source: Francesco Librizzi Studio

A very small apartment within a very “Milanese” building dated 1900. Two rooms plus a bath room, characterized by a narrow footprint compared to the quite high ceiling. Windows, doors, and above all the floor tiles, had finishes and materials survived to another century: something precious to save as a resource for the new inhabitants of this space.

Shangri-La in Sydney, New South Wales by Remote Controlled Lighting

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Article source: Remote Controlled Lighting

The Director DR8 MK2, RCL’s next generation remote controlled luminaire, features a compact design that is ideally suited to the ceiling troughs of the Grand Ballroom. Special snoots fitted to the luminaires help to reduce glare and direct the light. Both the DR7 and DR8 spotlights can be focused wireless using a simple handheld remote controller from floor level, bypassing the need for mechanical lifts or long ladders. This reduces set up time and avoids the costs and dangers typically associated with manual adjustment.

Spectator Group’s Headquarters Office Building in Zagreb, Croatia by Studio Up

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Article source: Studio Up

Introductory Notes – this project’s task was transforming an existing project (reconstruction of a building accidentally found on a lot) for the Spectator Group’s Headquarters. When the project began, a building site was opened and excavation and construction pit protection works commenced, what defined the project’s character from the start. The previously designed reinforced-concrete frame system was kept, while the modifications within the construction system are tied to the staircase’s cores. The idea/work methodology was to essentially keep the constructive element’s state of design while keeping the construction interventions to a minimum.

HOSTEL GOLLY±BOSSY in Split, Croatia by STUDIO UP

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014

Article source: STUDIO UP

The “Savo” building, located in the Split city center core, was turned into a shopping mall at the beginning of this century and, by a guerrilla action in 2010, was transformed into a hostel in 100 days. Public communications – escalators, panoramic elevator and the staircase were kept, and shopping spaces were partitioned by a system of walls that contain everything necessary – beds, lavatories, showers and toilets. An urban metropolitan character as well as a continuance of the public realm within a historical membrane were performed.

Polimen House in Biscay, Spain by COLL-BARREU ARQUITECTOS

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014

Article source: COLL-BARREU ARQUITECTOS

The building accommodates the central Public Safety services for a one million people urban area.

The ground on which the building sits was unstable. It was uncertain. It is the result of having quickly filled an open mine, with pits up to 50 m deep, which formed a cavernous place in its physical reality and its memory.
