This project is an addition to a typical suburban ranch house in an established wooded area.
The client requested to add a master suite to the house and provide more light and a better connection with the outside.
We developed a program we we could take full advantage of the back to woods of the house and maintain a certain level of privacy at the same time.
The kitchen was moved to the back of the house to face the better view and provide an enjoyable experience and inspiration all year round.
The contact with the outside was provided with multiple balconies and a new deck. Floor to ceiling windows in the back of the house and a carefully located skylight provide the amount of light to make an airy feeling inside the house.
A diversity of material and scale of the volumes and interior spaces was provided to blend the modern language of the house with it’s environment.
