La Belle Equipe Thaï boxing hall in Paris, France by Spray architecture

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Article source: Spray architecture

La belle equipe is in an Art Nouveau building’s heart, classified as Historic Monument. This Thaï boxing hall, created by two friends and old champions, doesn’t look like all boxing gyms. Remy & Julien had the desire to create a place different as the traditional gyms. A unique and friendly place, where the exchange is the heart of the project.

Albi Grand Theatre in France by Dominique Perrault Architecture

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Article source: Dominique Perrault Architecture

The Albi Grand Theatre is going to transform the texture of the city as well as its cultural influence.

This building appears as an outstanding architectural symbol, on the outskirts of the historic centre.

We have given priority to the presence of the Grand Theatre instead of the cinemas, in order to organize around it a network of public spaces and of cultural facilities. The Grand Theatre will be its centre.

Movet Office Loft in Schorndorf, Germany by STUDIO ALEXANDER FEHRE

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Article source: STUDIO ALEXANDER FEHRE

Movet is a company that literally originated in a garage. Today, the Movet brand is eponymous with outstanding competence in the field of conveyor belt technology. Because the capacity of the company’s rather makeshift headquarters had finally been reached, Studio Alexander Fehre was commissioned to design a new and more representative office space with an adjoining warehouse. The solution is a clever combination of different areas, so as to accommodate the diverse range of requirements in a limited space while retaining a spacious feel. The result is the ‘Movet Workshop’, which forms the epicentre of the space and functions as conference room, office kitchen and showroom in one. Contained behind an airy metal mesh façade, customers and visitors are welcomed here in the very heart of the office and thus immediately integrated into daily business. The new open-plan office structure communicates engagement, transparency and a marked team spirit – especially to the people working there.

“House in Hanekita” in Okazaki, Japan by Katsutoshi Sasaki + Associates

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Article source: Katsutoshi Sasaki + Associates

It is the plan for a double family home in a tranquil residential area. My interest is in how the connection between the individual residence and surrounding public area is reflected to the house plan. In this house’s case there was a park adjacent to the north border of the site, so I wanted to put emphasis on the relationship between the house and the park as an everyday playground for children as well as a borrowing landscape for the house. So I put the opening with sliding doors on the north face of the building to secure the continuity of the traffic line and the view, while setting up a wider entrance and level difference so that the residents can enjoy hanami (Cherry blossom viewing) in spring from the interior of the house. In addition, the exterior environment is gradually connected to the interior through buffering spaces of the earthen-floor entrance on the north and the private garden on the south. Two households are separated by the volume housing staircase room and storage between east and west, marked off flexibly by sliding doors set on the south side between two households. These doors are often opened during the daytime, making the entire floor a mobile playground where children can freely run around across the households.

Footpaths and Overlook in the Quilotoa Lake – Shalalá by Jorge Andrade Benítez, Javier Mera Luna and Daniel Moreno Flores

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Article source: Jorge Andrade Benítez, Javier Mera Luna and Daniel Moreno Flores

This Project starts with the acknowledgment of a conceptual challenge which structures the idea that generates the proposal: Which characteristics could an overlook have to be attractive even when all its natural surroundings offer interesting (and similar) views? This is due to the fact that the project is located in the top edge of the crater of an active volcano that has a lake inside of it, which creates multiple viewing opportunities along its surroundings.

Article source: heri&salli / miss_vdr architektur

The architecture offices heri&salli and miss_vdr architektur /Vienna conceived an exhibition design for the exhibition “Building Culture-think your city different” in the planning workshop in Vienna. The graphic design was supplied by zunder zwo/Vienna.

By means of simply piled up square timbers a kind of “shelf-system” was created. On the one hand it functions as storage area on the other hand it can be used as interactive space.
