The outher shape of this “cafe bookstore” was inspired by that of a book. The users can also read books in its cafe for free or take the time to buy some in the bookstore. In the cafe, books can be borrowed and consulted while the books you find in the bookstore are for sale. The bookshelves used within it have been established in the exterior section on the same axis and thanks to this display window on the outside, the interiors have been rendered to appear on the same axis.

Of the two colors used for interior design, the prevalent one, the black color, has primarily been used in the bookstore section and by contributing a sense of serenity to the bookstore allows the books on the shelves to remain in the foreground, thus attracting the attention of the buyers. Another color that adds its character to the atmosphere is orange, which has been primarily used in the cafe section, thereby aiding the place to become more inviting by suggesting a hot cup of coffee to the customers after shopping or borrowing.

About Designer: Aydin Gürsel Bakir ”natselane” is an Istanbulite designer based in Lausanne whose activities cover the field of architecture, furniture and interior design.
After a few years of experiences with several design companies, Aydin Gürsel Bakir launched him to be independent designer since 2011.
